The author stemming from the preserved sources and documentation in the domestic and foreign archives reflects so far not a well-known theme of war graves of the members of the Red Army in Slovakia who died in 1944 – 1945. Besides the brief overview of the military operations of the Red Army and their allies in Slovakia in 1944 – 1945, he also provides here one of the most detailed and systematic view of the topic – burying of the Red Army soldiers, the building of the war cemeteries, graveyards and tombs, as well as the legal development of the maintenance of the graves from the end of the WWII up to the present times.
