 The author shortly focuses on the problem of beginning, development and the character of the war conflicts in our country during the WWI. Subsequently, within his study he clarifi es the need to establish military cemeteries (the establishment of A-H units; Kriegsgräber-commands, and their tasks etc). He deals properly with the problem of the maintenance of military cemeteries (graves) during the wars (1918 – 1939). He pinpoints an exclusive and decisive role of the Czechoslovak state, its state authorities, as well as other bodies in the whole complex managing the mentioned maintenance. There are some hints towards the gaps and lacks of the management by some concrete institutions. He finds the reasons of actual misunderstandings stemming from the misrepresentation of or the failure to perform some authorities’ competence as well as the lack of means allocated by the state.
