The author describes in his study a decisive period of the Slovak military history – the combat actions of the Slovak Fast Division in the period from August 1942 to November 1942, stemming from the available historical documents based at the collections of the Military History Archive and the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising. The study deals with the assignment of the Slovak Fast Division in German operation EDELWEISS. The target of the operation was to penetrate through the main back of the Caucasus to Georgia and its Black Sea ports in the west up to the Caspian sea to the east at the mountain range. The Slovak fast division was assigned in the west part of the Caucasus front with the goal to conquer Tuapse. It was the last attack of the division in the first half of October 1942.
