The study focuses on the interwar period of Czechoslovakia which is inter alia specific with returning Czechoslovak legions from Russia, France and Italy. Military symbolism of Czechoslovak troops abroad became the basis for further development of the emerging military symbolism of the Czechoslovak Army in the interwar period. The study’s main attention is drawn to the further development of the military symbolism of Czechoslovak legions and its use in creating new symbols after the year 1918, when the Czechoslovak Republic was formed. The study describes and characterizes in detail various types of military symbolism in terms of the rules faleristics, heraldry and vexilology. Military History. Czechoslovakia.
