The published study deals with the problems of changes related to shifting from the battalion of the Slovak Armoured Force to creation of the armoured force regiment in the period from the end of the campaign against Poland practically until the start of new organization in October 1940. The author’s attention is concentrated on characteristics of the organizational changes resulting in origin of the armoured force battalion, staffing of the changes performed, training and education of the armoured force members and cannon units defending against the armoured forces. The final part of the study also outlines the unsuccessful attempt on creating a higher fast troop.
