Author's study introduces interesting attempt to evaluate the Slovak national uprising (SNU) in terms of war theories, using the work of classic authors such as C. on Clausewitz, F. Engels and others. By means of a comparative method, the author evaluates SNU as „national-liberation war of Slovak people“ and based on its comparison with other, similar in type, wars in the world history convincingly concludes that SNU was not defeated in military terms, but, on contrary, lasted until the liberation of Slovakia and/or whole of Czechoslovakia by the Red Army, Rumanian and Czechoslovak armies.
