In this paper the author focuses on the specific issue of building the so-called old Czechoslovak fortified structures in the area of Bratislava bridgehead in 1933 — 1934. Therefore, the selection of the topic by the author is very positive. Needless to say, the author made excellent use of previously unexplored relevant archival documents. In describing the issue, he placed particular emphasis on the technical aspects of fortifications. The author introduces the reader to the process ofphysical construction of buildings, examines changes in their organizational structure, problems related to weapons and other technical equipment ofthese fortifications, and highlights the distribution of individual facilities in the bridgehead. It should be appreciated that the author treats the specific issue of terminology of fortified bunkers and changes in their development.
